Ramos earned the rank of detective and in 2023 was promoted to sergeant.
The county's Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), of which Ramos was a member of (Class of 2019), announced his death on Monday, Jan. 20.
Sheriff Anthony Cureton remembered Ramos as "a dedicated and honorable officer who left a lasting impact on his community and colleagues. His contributions and character clearly earned him deep respect and admiration.
"My thoughts are with his family, friends, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office during this difficult time. May his legacy inspire others, and may he rest in peace.”
